Zeavola Tales June 2010 : Across the Finish Line
After 24 days of hard work, we are delighted to announce that all major construction has now been completed at the Zeavola Resort. During the last few weeks, the entire resort has undergone a massive upgrade to further establish it as the only 5-star hotel complex on the stunning Phi Phi Island.After a night of celebrating the old and preparing to bring in the new, our entire 5-star service team got down to some major renovation, with only the most specialized projects being assigned to outside contractors. Working closely together, the whole Zeavola family successfully completed a very aggressive schedule for this comprehensive project that included work on, above and below ground.
Public Electricity
Without doubt, the most demanding work was the installation of underground pipes to carry high voltage electricity cables. While outside contractors oversaw this important job, up to 40 resort staff helped with the back-breaking work of digging up the entire length of the beach and laying the pipes. Nevertheless, it was effort well spent as it means that the natural beauty of the area will not be compromised by unsightly electricity cables. All the pipes have now been laid, and the cables will be pulled through soon. Please note that this final phase will not cause any disturbance to our resort guests.
Swimming Pool
One of the most eye-catching makeovers was to the old green swimming pool. Re-tiled in aquamarine blue, it has been transformed from an ugly duckling into a pool so beautiful that it perfectly complements the dazzling hues of the nearby Andaman Sea. The wooden decks around the pool have also been renovated, and with new furniture and the trademark Zeavola yellow umbrellas, the pool area is now as delightful as a flower-lined lagoon.
General Renovation
Defying all fear of heights, the Zeavola team cleaned and painted all the outside walls of Zeavola Spa on self-built bamboo scaffolding. Setting up the scaffolding was a team-building experience in itself, and the assigned staff did an excellent job in completing the task 5-12 meters above the ground.In addition to the above mentioned projects, both restaurants have been refurbished, and all the villa roofs that were marked for restoration have now been completely renovated and sealed to ensure that there will be no leakages for a long time to come. Also, the beach platforms and furniture have been repainted, and the wooden walkways renovated.
Ready to Welcome New Guests
After a very busy high season, which together with the aggressive weather was beginning to take its toll, all the hard work and loving attention has put the sparkle back into the resort. It is, therefore, our great pleasure to announce that the Zeavola team and resort are now ready to welcome new guests for both the green season and the upcoming high season at the end of this year.
