Island hopping

Island hopping

Besides our guided “Phi Phi Ley” Tour, the resort can assist in arranging long tail boats, the local mode of transportation to bring you to any of the numerous beaches and snorkeling spots of the Phi Phi Islands Marine National Park. Our knowledgeable team will point you towards the right spots based on tide levels, weather conditions and Sea currents.

We provide complimentary beach towels, beach mats, snorkeling equipment and water. Please let us know which Picnic Lunch Menu you would like to bring on your trip.

There is an incredible world under the surface of our tropical sea, waiting to be explored! Many colourful fish and coral live in shallow water where the light brings life to the reef.

Here are 3 suggested programs:

Northern end of Phi Phi Island Hin Klang Reef - the open sea reef, big as a football pitch, located on the way to Bamboo Island from Laem Tong Beach, is an ideal stop for snorkeling and swimming. This is where we like to take our first time divers to explore the underwater world!

Bamboo Island (Koh Phai), 200 Baht National Park Fee - a tiny island surrounded a long white beach on the north and east side with sparkling coral gardens off the south and west coast offering good snorkeling directly from the beach. It's an idyllic place for a picnic and play on the beach.

Mosquito Island (Koh Yung) - On the east coast are some small beaches and well preserved coral gardens running parallel to the coast. You might well find you are the only ones there...
There are two choices of picnic menu for enjoying a romantic picnic on the beach. Take a boat to a quiet beach and watch the day slip away, while drinking a sun-downer and snacking on starters.

Be aware!

Please keep a look out for boats when snorkeling. Generally start snorkeling against the water current so you can easily drift back, or plan your exit so you can walk back or be picked up by your boat. You can travel long distances without realizing it when you are enjoying the underwater world!

Please do not feed the fish!

In some bays there are big schools of fish attracted to the boat when you arrive. They are used to being given food by tourists that has fed them over the years. These fish should be eating other things natural to them, for example jellyfish, and when they don't, there is an imbalance on the reef and there will be too many jelly fish...

Nothing will attack you, but care must be taken when snorkeling and swimming. Beware of touching any animals, corals or rocks. Most sea creatures, including coral, protect themselves by defensive reactions such as toxic spines and tings. These creatures are either very easily recognized as being very colourful or very well camouflaged and hard to see.

Bird Life

White Bellied Sea Eagle - not to be mistaken for the Brahminy Kite, this is a big bird of prey with a white belly, white under the wings and a white head. Mostly to be seen on bamboo island in the afternoon or in Phi Phi Ley.

Brahminy Kite – Another bird of prey, but significantly smaller living from catching fish, their white head and their copper brown feather dress makes them easy to name. There is a pair of them just behind the resort in the Judge, making them a frequent dinner guest on one of the resort high coconut palm trees.

Frigate Bird - a distinct V-shaped tail identify this big sea bird as they lazily soar the skies. The Frigate feathers do not contain enough oil and therefore does not land in the sea but catch fish with its long beak.

Pacific Reef Egret - this smaller grey egret can be seen walking along the coastline and low tides catching fish and critters. Have a cocktail late in the afternoon at our house beach and observe these birds going for dinner outing during low tide.

All in all there are totally more than 10 bird species living within the resort. Especially delightful are the yellow Oriols, the black long tailed Dongros and the tinny Sunbirds harvesting nectar from the red hibiscus flowers. Keep a keen eye on the animal world of the resort it is very rewarding.
