Friday Lunch Project for “Baan Laem Tong School” Koh Phi Phi
Zeavola Resort has continued its involvement with the Baan Laem Tong School on the Northern tip of Phi Phi Don, just a five-minute walk from Zeavola Resort with launching the Friday Lunch Project.
Zeavola Resort has already built a multi-purpose building for the school, of which one of its uses is the school canteen, and organises a balanced, and nutritious lunch for the children once a week at the school. This is held every Friday to ensure that the children have sufficient nutrients apart from the simple fish and rice they have daily. For the purpose, children, eggs, green vegetables and ice–cream or other desserts are added.
Zeavola Resort donate US$ 3 to this lunch program for every single night the guest stay and invite all guests to participate this project by offering the food to kids every Friday during their lunch.
Apart from the Friday Lunch Project, Zeavola Resort also organized the ‘Annual Children’s Day Party’ for the school. Thailand Children’s Day is every 2nd Saturday of January each year. The first ‘Children’s Day’ party (January 14, 2006) was a fun-packed day for the 40 children of Bann Laem Tong School, with a variety of games, lunch and gifts on offer. A further 60-plus children and parents from the whole village also joined the party.
Located in a remote area it has proved very difficult for the school to secure any budget from the local authority.
