In Phi Phi Islands there are two common types of shark, the Blacktip reef shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus) and the Leopard shark (Stegostoma fasciatum) named after its appearance not habit.
None of them are dangerous or aggressive and are indeed more afraid of us than we are of them. In fact, we consider ourselves very lucky to be able to see these beautiful animals in the wild.
